What others are saying about Nelish Quests

Hi Kevin, I am a huge advocate for anti bullying.

You have no idea

My two sons have been bullied, my older son so badly that I ended up moving out of the city to get him away from it all. Best thing I did for him. He (Reese) turned his bad experiences around and started an anti bullying page and has helped other kids around the world with giving them moral support and advice. He actually turned one girl around from harming herself to being confident in who she is. This girl lives in Greece. One year later there was a small movement with this girls new friends writing on their wrists (I heart Reese, Thank you).

My younger sons situations are still on going but I am armed and have the knowledge now to stop it.

Your message is very important to me.

I am very outspoken about anti bullying. Please go ahead and use my response as a testimonial.

Queen City STEM School kicked off their ANTI-BULLYING assemblies for the month with the first presenter being Author, Kevin Grant. We were honored with his presence as this was Mr. Grant’s very first time presenting. Everyone has to start somewhere and I’m glad it was with us.
Thank you Mr. Grant! Much love from QCSS

Were any of you bullied in school? I was made fun of more than I care to remember because I was doing, looking, or talking different than other people. I was made fun of for random things a lot and it still hurts today. Too fat? Got ya! Too thin? Got ya! Doing something outside of school? Oh yay, got ya! I was even made fun of because I talked like a “valley girl”, this, that and all of it. 😡😡😡
Its seems so small now but was HUGE then!! I hate to think that kids go through this and know that school can be a merciless place for bullying. 🥺🥺🥺
What I do love and support is when someone is fighting against bullying. Fighting the good fight and making a difference. I met this guy, Kevin Grant, in a random way and love what he is doing. He’s made a character, Nelish, that fights bullying. This is amazing stuff. ❤

A story about defeating the odds in spite of what seems like insurmountable odds. A remarkable first novel from a gifted artist. I think the characters are well delineated, and I was intrigued by the clever plot. I hope the author writes more, and I am looking forward to watching him grow as a writer and illustrator.

My bullying survival story
As you read my story don’t feel sorry for me but realize this is one of triumph! I grew up being bullied everyday! I was teased, spat on, had spit balls spit at me, not picked for teams in gym (being put on the only team that needed a player), sitting alone at lunch, my name was made fun of and I even had teachers laughing/not standing up for me. I felt scared to go to school, terrified to ride the bus, hated going to school. I felt alone and truly was. I had no friends and the ones I thought were my friends were two faced. In 7th grade I was at a friend’s house in her basement and physically beaten up, held down and there was a boy watching and swinging a knife around, laughing and the girl with rings repeatedly punched me in my face over and over. I had to walk home after being beat up in the dark for 2 miles. I had a very lonely childhood. I remember swinging on my swing singing to myself all the time. That was a big enjoyment of mine. Then on January, 4th 1985 after five years of watching her suffer my mother died of cancer when I was 13. It was a very scary and depressing childhood. I was very neglected and alone. These struggles followed me into my adult life and my marriage-domestic. As I reflect back on those times I have feelings I can’t describe. With a relationship with God, many years of counseling and friendships I’ve developed I made it through. I recently worked for 11 years as a house parent at The Milton Hershey School in Hershey Pa, I lived with 12 middle school girls, my ex husband and two children. We were like 2nd parents to them. Milton Hershey School is a residential school for students who come from broken homes and broken dreams. There are some memories that pop up from time to time esp. when I see others go through the same struggles as I did. They are so strong and spectacular girls. I helped them live successful and meaningful lives on a daily basis. This experience in life has taught me to love others unconditionally, judge less and except others for the way they are.
